About La Pèira

“Easily one of the top estates in all of France” Jeb Dunnuck Wine Advocate

“Make no mistake about it, this is a very special wine made on a very special estate.” Jancis Robinson Financial Times

“Wines that need not fear comparison with any of the world’s wine icons” David Schildknecht Wine Advocate

”Rearranged my inner pantheon in the way that truly great wine can.” Andrew Jefford The World of Fine Wine

La Pèira is one of a select list of estates in France to receive a ✪✪✪✪✪ (super 5 stars, restricted to
the true classics, out-and-out world class). One of three in Southern France and the estate in the Languedoc to receive this rating, Wines Behind the Label Guide

“Many observers consider this to be the most exciting estate in the Languedoc.” Robert Parker Wine Advocate

“The flagship wine from this new venture is easily going to be the next great global cult wine. Think Clos Erasmus or Masseto” Gary Vaynerchuk

“Confirmed the high potential of the relatively cool, windy hills north of Clermont” Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson, The World Atlas of Wine

“A range of wines of striking depth and originality yet great truth to place, too.” Andrew Jefford, Financial Times

“The texture and the depth of flavor are amazing. It reminded me at different moments of 1989 La Mission Haut-Brion, Fattoria Galardi 2004 Terre di Lavoro and 1990 Henri Bonneau Reserve des Célestins.” Jay McInerney Wall Street Journal

“Have helped completely change the landscape and the horizon of their appellation, with the wines being placed on qualitative level or above, of the 1er crus classés of Bordeaux and the Grands Crus of Burgundy” Bertrand Rougier Classement des Meilleurs Vins de France 2014 Lafont Presse

“Now recognised as one of the very top wines in France.” Simon Field MW Berry Bros. & Rudd

“There is clearly real sensibility for the local terrain and varietal traditions” Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com

“Southern France’s First Growth” Andrew McMurray Vice, President of Zachys

“They have created great wines, the kind of wines that can jolt consumers’ perceptions of the Languedoc and can rival the best from Bordeaux, and the Rhône. Maybe, given time, they might even right a historical wrong.” Andrew Jefford, Gourmet Traveller WINE

La Peira 2015

A serious, structured, concentrated vintage for the cuvee, the 2015 Terrasses du Larzac la Peira is 47% Syrah, 45% Grenache and the balance Mourvèdre. Raised all in barrel, its inky purple color is followed by fabulous notes of black raspberries, scorched earth, crushed herbs and spring flowers. This bid, full-bodied, tannic effort has beautiful freshness and purity, and will have two decades of overall longevity. Drink Date NA Issue Date 28th Apr 2016 Source 224, The Wine Advocate Rating: (94 – 96)+  Wine Advocate (94 – 96)+

deep b-r
> ah yes now the Syrah comes thudding in with the sumptuous soft sweet black fruits, the virgin dark night dreaming sleeping beauty fruits … and thyme. Bit of rawness here but impressive.
> We’re back! It’s a great La Peira. All the depth, thunder, drum roll grandeur is there; better tannins than many; sensationally tight-knit fruits. Meaty too even thought the Mourvedre is elsewhere. Liquorice choc depths. Mind-blowing stuff. So concentrated, yet in this vintage so balanced, so fresh, so fine, so lifted, so spicy so grippy, such weighty tannins, such enrobed tannins. Such grown up black fruits. All the Languedoc’s sensuality but lifted to a very high degree of finesse and poise. Despite the richness, almost crisp and dramatic in this vintage. Wow: well done to all. A little bit reductive now but that’s as it should be for an unfinished serious red … Andrew Jefford

Las Flors 2015

The Grenache-focused release is the 2015 Terrasses du Larzac Las Flors de la Peira includes 30% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre and smaller parts Cinsault and Carignan. Made in a pretty, elegant style, it has a vibrant ruby color to go with jammy, forward notes of raspberries, blackberries, violets and garrigue. Medium to full-bodied, pure, with ripe tannin, good acidity, and terrific length, it will have 10-12 years of overall longevity. Obriers 2016

Not reviewed yet but an excellent vintage

While current vintages of the wines of La Pèira cannot be acquired here, we thought to found this little épicerie (especiariá in occitan) simply for the purchase of larger format bottlings, for en primeur offers, for the occasional limited stock of library vintages (ex-domaine), and for otherwise unavailable rarities and oddities only.

Unfortunately we are unable to deliver to all countries. For details as to countries we can deliver to, see sales conditions & legal information.
